How a Dream Changed My Life

Have you ever received a message at night that communicates something emotionally traumatic right before you go to sleep? How about someone you knew well at one point in your life just passed away unexpectedly earlier that day? This experience happened to me recently. It was after 9:30pm in the middle of the week when I received a flurry of emails from my high school classmates hitting my phone describing a mutual friend of ours who had trouble breathing after attending a Yoga class with his wife, then he simply stopped breathing and could not be revived. When something like this happens to you, a barrage of thoughts, feelings and emotions flood over you. You are confronted with your own mortality and memories of your past experiences with someone you knew previously in your journey through life, now their life has ended.

After this experience, I went to bed that night and began to dream about an experience I had with my friend who had passed away. Through this dream, I remembered his generosity and the generosity of his family. The dream was a flashback of a real-life experience I had had 51 years ago in 1971. Come see how God the Father showed me in my dream how much He cares about us and how His love passes through people and families generationally to bless us even when we don’t appreciate His involvement in our lives at the time! Nonetheless, when we could really use some encouragement, He gives us a dream and He lifts up our spirits by showing us He was there all the time. God the Father has our back!

The name Papa Tom is a Nom De Plume, that is a pen name. However, it is the name my grandchildren call me: Papa Tom. You see I am a newly minted Grandfather! Yes, I am a father of 6 children and 15 grandchildren (11 on earth so far; 4 in heaven already). I started my transition later in life; in my late sixties writing children’s books, wanting to share thoughts and ideas that would help my grandchildren understand life from a different perspective; the perspective of heaven. I also podcast with a theme of bringing the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers and in so doing helping you connect with the Heart of God the Father.

In western societies and cultures, when one attends a social event the question is often asked "who are you?" The likely answer is I am a dentist or a doctor, lawyer or some other occupation. The inquirer may say I did not ask you what you did for a living, but rather...
