If you have ever watched Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) in National Lampoon’s series on Family Vacations you may wonder if everything is going to turn out all right, yet somehow it does. The foregoing video clip is a gift from my youngest son, Samuel, who took the pictures and put it to music playing “It’s Going to Turn Out All Right”. When large families with many children get together for family vacations it seems everything becomes chaotic. Yet, through all the chaos, children experience a good, fun time. Since, The Father’s Heart Media is all about connection: bringing the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to the fathers, the prism through which I viewed this video was the perspective of fathers being present provided a safe environment for children to play and have fun. There was nothing to worry about. The beach provided a wonderful environment to connect with cousins and the extended family at large. All the children knew they were with family, the basic social unit on which to build a society was present. The nuclear family has been under attack for years, it’s good to see that God’s Biblical prescription for family still works and will always be the best structure. Good fathers in every social structure is fundamental to the success of that social structure starting with the family. Don’t ever lose the childlike perspective that everything is going to work out all right, in the Hands of a good, good Father everything does turn out all right!
